How did you first get involved in yoga? What’s your yoga story?
I had already been doing a lot of pilates and my partner had in the past practiced yoga and said I would love it. We went together in this tiny room with yucky carpet and had the most amazing yoga teacher that created this absolute bliss for me. In that session I completely forgot about all the stress I was carrying and felt nothing but love and connection for my teacher, my partner for sharing it with me and myself. I left that yoga session and thought to myself I have to be a yoga teacher, that yoga teacher is the luckiest and richest person in the world to have a career like that. If I am half the teacher she is and can try create something like this for my students then I have achieved my goal. All that’s left is to put my print on more students and each day be a better version of myself than I was yesterday.
What do you want your students to experience in your classes?
I want my students to completely let go of their day and all the stresses from the outside world. We live in a fast pasted world so if I can create a little bit of peace, calmness and movement for 1 hour then I know I have made a positive difference.
What do you love most about teaching yoga?
When my students tell me they look forward to our weekly class and how much yoga has helped them live their life better.
When you’re not teaching yoga we’ll find you…
Creating healthy & delicious recipes in my kitchen from the freshest organic produce I can find. I love love love to cook, experiment with ingredient and entertaining for my family & friends.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Dancing around my apartment with David Bowie blaring. Also eating pizza (lots of it)
Favourite yoga pose?
Janu Sirsasana rotation (rotated head to knee pose)
Three things you’re grateful for are…
2. All the travel adventures I have had
3. My other half
I do yoga because…
It has helped me realise what’s important in life and not judging myself or others for it. Yoga has taught me to be a better person inside and out. I feel amazingly fit and healthy and the biggest physical change yoga has given me is good posture.
